Smart Start Academy 180 campus offers the convenience of being centrally located on “restaurant row” in the historical downtown Jersey City, located at 178-180 Newark Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07302.
Smart Start 180 is designed for children ages 6 weeks-24 months. Students over 24 months will attend our center located at 532 Jersey ave Jersey City NJ 07302. (Located directly across the street)

This state of the art facility offers Eco friendly sustainable energy accommodations throughout our classrooms, Smart drop off zone for families to easily drop off/pick up their students. Designed with tall European style windows , offering plenty amount of natural light for our students. This center was recently renovated to create small intimate classes that does not exceed 10 students per class. Creating that warm intimate environment for our children to flourish and feel at home. The center provides its own state of the art indoor Playground (shared with Jersey Campus) and outdoor park for our children to enjoy throughout the day. Our center is design with most updated technology, from our smart boards, Scapio Stem equipment, our 64 4K security cameras, to our contactless entry and sign in systems. We are sure you will love to visit this state of the art beautiful center. There nothing in the neighborhood that makes you feel like Family as soon as you walk in.
The academic year runs from September through June and parents are required to pay for the entire school year regardless of holidays, start dates, inclement weather, unforeseen circumstances and student absences. All parents are required to pay a non- refundable, non-transferable security placement fee and 1st Month tuition to secure their child’s spot at S.S.A. This Security placement fee will be applied to the last month of the student enrollment with proper 2 FULL month written notice provided. (Summer months July/August do not apply towards written notice) Please note, Security Placement fee, 1st month titution is only refunded/applied in the form of tuition and is applied towards your first and last month’s of your child’s enrollment.
At Smart Start’s downtown location we also offer additional services to help busy parents including weekday and weekend smart sitter service, emergency care for children up to 18 months, extended nursery hours for children 6 weeks to 18 months old and social enrichment. For students 19 months and older, we offer multiple preschool schedule options with 2-,3- and 5-day school schedules and full and half-day options. S.S.A now offers Smart Pick- ups, offering that true V.I.P experience allowing you to never have to leave the comfort of your home in the morning or in the afternoon. Smart Start Academy’s Tuition Policy
Smart Start Academy requires a full academic school year (Sept-June) commitment from all of our families. If commitment is not met, security placement fee, tuition, are forfeited. The security placement fee and 1st month tuition is not refundable, non-transferable and Security placement fee will only be applied to the last month of student enrollment with proper 2 FULL month’s written notice provided to the center.
